Pray! Data Retention Summary
Effective date: April 6, 2026
This page summarizes how long Pray! expects to keep common categories of information. It is intended to be read together with the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
1. Account Records
Account records, including the Sign in with Apple subject identifier, display name, role, notification preferences, and sign-in timestamps, are retained while the account is active and as needed for security, moderation, or service operation.
2. Prayer Requests and Prayer Actions
Active prayer requests remain available until removed, archived, otherwise moderated, or deleted through an in-app account deletion request. Answered and removed prayer requests may remain in the user’s archive and in backups. Prayer action records, including whether a prayer was anonymous, are retained to show prayer counts, prevent duplicate daily prayer actions, support notifications, and investigate misuse.
3. Groups and Memberships
Group records, group suggestions, and membership requests are retained while needed to operate groups, review membership, manage approved groups, and preserve moderation history.
4. Reports, Moderation, and Audit Logs
Reports and moderation records are retained as needed to review content, protect users, enforce the Terms of Use, and maintain a history of administrative decisions. Audit logs are designed for a one-year retention window unless a longer period is needed for security, abuse prevention, legal, or operational reasons, including the review of account-deletion events.
5. Device Tokens and Notifications
Device tokens for push notifications are retained while needed to send notifications to a registered device. Notification records may be retained for operational troubleshooting, moderation context, and service reliability.
6. Backups
Database backups are used for disaster recovery and service restoration. Records deleted from the live service may remain in backups until those backups expire or are replaced through the normal backup rotation.
7. Contact
Questions about retention or deletion requests can be sent to Robert Montague at robertmontague@yahoo.com. Users can also initiate account deletion directly from the in-app Settings screen.
